We’ve been robbed, sorta, sorta robbed… I guess.

I’m so proud of my mama, y’all. She has several friends that call every day or every other day, some call multiple times a day… they all live alone and range in age from 78-102. A few weeks ago I gave her a shortlist of questions (quarantine- questions) to ask her friends when they call… and earlier this week she woke me up at 3 am because she is concerned about one of her friends. She’s been asking the questions from the list I gave her and discovered that one of her friends is in need, and has very little food to eat.
So later that morning (7 am) I go in the kitchen to make breakfast and it looks like we’ve been robbed, sorta, sorta-robbed, I guess. Basically, my mom bagged up everything from the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry so we could deliver it to her friend first thing, and we did.

Also, she gathered up books, magazines, and puzzles and we porch-dropped those items to a few of her other friends too.

Like I said, I’m proud of my mom, and I think it’s true, you are never too old to do good, or to start loving others well… you might just need some assistance to do the good, and that’s ok.
